Swipe ⬅️ It’s official. This is the hardest, and spiciest, eating competition in the world.

For over a decade, The Lava Wing Challenge has attracted the bravest, chilli-loving contestants from around the globe. You’ve seen the viral clips - but what does it take to actually win this legendary competition?

The rules are simple - finish your plate of six wings doused in liquid-lava in the fastest time. Speed may be the aim of the game but that’s easier said than done. Over 90% of contestants bravely bow out of the competition after sampling just one wing.

The heat hits you almost instantly but over time, the pain only intensifies. Water and milk are banned from the competition meaning there’s no relief from the rising temperatures.

What makes this sauce so spicy? It’s a secret blend of chillis and pure capsaicin - measuring around 8 million on the Scoville scale. For reference, a Jalapeño pepper is only 2,500 on the same scale.

Being in close proximity of this sauce is enough to cause your eyes to water. Gloves and eye-protection are essential.
